RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his message extended good wishes for matrimonial life of Maj Hercharan Singh, first Sikh officer of Pakistan Army, on getting married.
The Army officer tied the knot on Sunday at Gurdwara Punja Sahib, Hasan Abdal. A number of serving and retired officers of Pakistan Army including former Army chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani also attended the marriage ceremony, said media wing of Armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a press release.
Maj Harcharan Singh was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 2007.
Pak Army remains a symbol of national integration and respects rights of religious minorities in Pakistan and Maj Harcharan Singh is one such example, said the ISPR release.
